Helen Lorene Molton

Her journey began on March 2, 1929. Helen lived a life full of love, laughter, and deep appreciation for the simple joys of the world around her. She was born to Marzella (Bertalot) and Hollis Reynolds in Tulsa, at her grandmother's home. The oldest of three children, she was later joined by her two younger brothers, Ralph and Dale. Helen met her future husband, Paul, early in life, as he often visited their home to play with her twin uncles, Ray and Roy. When Paul joined the Navy during World War II, they exchanged letters and deepened their bond. After graduating from Central High School, Helen worked for the local newspaper. Upon Paul's return from the war, they dated and soon their marriage journey of 54 years began on June 6, 1947. After Paul's service in the Korean war, the couple ran a series of Texaco stations, with Helen serving as the office manager and bookkeeper. They welcomed their daughter Paula Rae in 1954, and though heartbroken by the stillbirth of a son in 1955, they were blessed again with the birth of their son, Michael Wayne, in 1964. When Paul changed careers, Helen embraced her role as a devoted homemaker. In 1977, they moved from Tulsa to Bixby, where they planted a large vegetable garden each year and Helen always had an immaculate blooming landscape. The family took countless vacations and created numerous traditions. On these vacations she was known for occasionally insisting that Paul pull over and dig up a plant she liked so she could take it home and add to her landscaping to remember the trip. She and Paul were active members in the Shriners organization, with Helen being an Eastern Star. She enjoyed bowling in women's leagues and in mother-son leagues, proudly displaying the many trophies she won over the years. They also loved hosting get-togethers and family birthdays at their home, several times a year. Helen always baked and decorated the birthday cakes, crafting each one to the specific request of the birthday guest of honor, making every celebration feel personal and special. Christmas was Helen's favorite time of year. Paul would decorate the front lawn and outside of the house while inside, Helen transformed every shelf, nook and cranny into holiday wonder. Christmas Eve was always spent at "Meme's" house, where children and grandchildren woke up together on Christmas morning - a tradition cherished by the entire family. Helen and Paul were devoted members of Sheridan Road Baptist Church. Their unwavering faith in Jesus was at the core of their lives, guiding them through both joy and hardship. Later Helen joined Southwood Baptist Church and continued her commitment to faith and service. After Paul's passing in 2001, Helen continued and expanded the family traditions. Every year she would take the family on a trip to Branson. The memories created on those trips are still talked about today. She truly enjoyed traveling with her friends, family and travel clubs. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and loyalty. She leaves behind a family and community that adored her, and she will be remembered with deep affection and lasting respect. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, both brothers, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her daughter Paula Walker and her husband Robert; son Mike Molton and his wife Charlotte; grandchildren Brian Walker and his wife Amanda; Kim Nino and her husband Ruben; Michael Molton and his wife Jennifer; Cody Molton; Cally Hart and her husband Colt; great grandchildren Makenzie, Trey, Keith, Nikki, Amiah, John Henry, Gracie, Violet, Penelope, and Tucker along with other family members and friends who will forever cherish their memories of Helen.
