John Eric Barker, II

John Eric Barker II was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 2nd, 1993 in St John's Hospital, and he departed May 31st, 2023 from the same place. His beautiful soul is survived by his loving wife Kathleen Barker, his fur babies Tooty, Keaton, and Moobear, and turtle baby Neptune; his mother and stepfather Deborah and Ken Butterworth; his brother Nicholas Keefer and stepbrother Kyle Butterworth; his father and stepmother Eric Barker Senior and Amber Barker; his brother and sister Jachin and Jillian Barker; his father-in-law James Long; his uncle-in-law David Long; his aunts Joyce Ambros, and Tiffany Barker; his uncles Perry Barker Jr and Clayton Clinton; his grandfather Perry Barker senior; his grandmother and grandfather Beverly and Hans Ambros; along with several cousins and other family members. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Joni Ward, and fur babies (cats) Putput, Sootie, Smokie, (Dogs) Luna, Faith Bear, and Geko Baby Smokie Mountain Cross. Johnny was a student of the universe, his attention open and threaded through many ideas and possibilities on matters of Christ Consciousness. One thing for certain was his belief in love and that everyone deserved it. If a being needed him and he was capable, Johnny aided them any way he could. He attended Broken Arrow High School and graduated from Talking Leaves Job Core where he forged many friendships and cherished memories. Afterwards, he became well versed in Mechanics at OTC (Oklahoma Technical College) where he carried and put that knowledge to great use for the rest of his life. He loved working on cars and put many hours, much love and more than a few colorful words into his craft. When he wasn't holding a wrench, Johnny could be found passing a joint in the genuine hippy spirit of friendship and healing, not only for his own pain, but to ease the suffering of others. He was a man you could talk to, and count on hearing the truth wether it was hard to hear or validating. Johnny didn't sugar coat things, and yet to so many he was the sweetest. When he was at home he loved to play all kinds of video games with all kinds of people. He made friends in Australia, England, all across the US, and he cherished time with friends and family here with Mario cart, skyrim, and of course Diablo. And in the quiet hours of the night, Johnny and his wife spent hours creating their own perfect world in minecraft. They built the home they dreamed of in that game and laughed for hours side by side as they went on their adventures. When had the energy he loved creating. He worked with wood, he made jewelry and even painted here and there with his wife. No one supported the dreams and endeavors of others like him. Especially his wife's dreams. On the topic of dreams, Johnny couldn't travel much, but when he made it to the ocean, he knew that was his place. He loved the beach, and wanted to move towards it. The very first time he glimpsed the ocean was at Myrtle beach with his parents when he was a baby the last was his and his wife's visit to Tampa Florida. He always wanted to be a pirate with his own galleon ship, so let it be known that he's our Captain at worlds end until each of us can be together again. The viewing will take place on Saturday June 10th 12pm-8pm. Funeral services will take place Sunday June 11th at 3pm both at Moore Southlawn Chapel.
