Jonathan Nicholas Brocksmith

Around 12:30 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2019, our "Dado" took his final breath and is now experiencing Heaven for the first time with our Lord and Savior! Jonathan Nicholas Brocksmith was adopted at birth by Margaret Elizabeth Spurlock Brocksmith and Dr. Henry Alfred Brocksmith on August 23, 1954. Jon entered a busy house-hold with four older siblings. He attended Patrick Henry Elementary, Edison Junior High, Thunderbird Academy in Ponca City, and graduated from Edison High School in 1973. After completing two years at Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Jon returned to Oklahoma to complete his degree in Business Administration at the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. As a child, Jon worked on his father's farm, serving as foreman, and where he learned to fix everything from electrical to farm implements to broken hearts. In high school at Edison, Jon played baseball and football, and was a drummer in a band. In his youth, he attended John Knox Presbyterian Church. Early in Jon's career in the insurance business he worked for Southwestern Life and Life Insurance Counselors. He then created his own firm, Life Insurance Brokerage Agency (LIBA). Jon became a member of First United Methodist Church, Tulsa, in 1990. He has been a member of the Nature conservancy, ASPCA, the NRA, and was affiliated with the Republican party. He enjoyed nature, the outdoors, and walking white sandy beaches of Florida with his wife and children. Jon was predeceased by his parents. He leaves behind his siblings Ed Brocksmith, Tahlequah; Martha Brennan, Euclid, OH; Dick Brocksmith (Lea Sutton), Tulsa: and Kate Brocksmith, Tulsa. Also remaining are his son Jonathan Thomas (JT) Brocksmith, wife Stacey, grandchildren Savannah, Addison, and Jackson all of Tulsa; stepson David Wasemiller, grandchildren Drake and Allie of Carrollton, TX; and stepdaughter Kristen Wasemiller, grandson Gage DeQuaisie of Oklahoma City. Jon was an amazing role model for his three children and six grandchildren. He loved them equally and unconditionally. He was fair and was their confidante. Jon also leaves his loving wife Pamela Tripp Brocksmith whom he first met in kindergarten. He gave Pam the respect she deserved and took special care of her all the days of their twenty-nine-year marriage. He was an extraordinary example of what a wonderful Christian man, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend should be. After sixty years, Jon was honored to meet his biological father, Les Caudill, of Millsboro Delaware, and discover his Cherokee heritage. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, from noon to 8 p.m. The family will receive guests from six to eight. Services will be held at First United Methodist Church (1115 South Boulder) on Friday, March 29, at 11 a.m. A reception at the church will follow the service. Internment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations to the church may be made in Jon's memory to the music ministry or the Provident Fund, or SPCA Tulsa. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
