Larry Keith Edmondson

Larry Keith Edmondson was born January 15, 1926, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Cary Roscoe and Nena Holloway Edmondson. He departed this life on May 21, 2017, at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Larry was a World War II Veteran serving in the Air Force. He graduated from the School of Architecture at Oklahoma A&M College, Stillwater, OK. After graduation, he worked for Architect Harold Flood in Ardmore, Oklahoma, until opening his own office in Miami, Oklahoma, in 1956. During his career, he served the profession as a Director of the American Institute of Architects at the local, regional, and national level, a Director of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, a Board Member of the Board of Governors of Licensed Architects of Oklahoma, and a Board Member of the American Indian Council of Architects and Engineers. Larry received national design awards for both educational and library projects. He was a member of the Design Team for the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian, Washington, DC, and Cultural Resource Center, Suitland, MD. Larry was honored to be a distinguished Richard Upjohn Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. During his long career, he established himself as a respected member of his profession. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Gerry Baskin. He is survived by his wife, Donna, Tulsa, OK; one daughter, Keri Bivins and husband Ed, Kingfisher, OK; four sons, Tim Edmondson and wife Julie, Broken Arrow, OK, Trent Edmondson, Grapevine, TX, Doug Henson and wife, Dana, Tulsa, OK, and Shannon Henson, Tulsa, OK; ten grandchildren, Danny Bivins, Leah Hartman, Cody Edmondson, Kelly Corley, Shane Edmondson, Lauren Albright, Chase Edmondson, Kyle Marshall, Hannah Henson, and Andrew Henson; fifteen great grandchildren, Jackson Bivins, Libby Bivins, Max Hartman, Ivy Hartman, Mia Hartman, Ela Hartman, Hunter Edmondson, Dylan Edmondson, Trenton Edmondson, Madden Corley, Espen Edmondson, Enslee Edmondson, Adra Edmondson, Layne Albright, and Trevor Albright; two sisters, Dorothy Edmondson, Tulsa, OK, and Wanda Ellzey and husband Tom, Locust Grove, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A graveside Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Calvary Cemetery, 91st & Harvard, Tulsa, OK. Services are under the direction of Moore's Rosewood Chapel, 2570 South Harvard, Tulsa, OK.
