Ruby Maxine Haynes

Ruby Maxine Rhyne Haynes was born on March 7, 1940, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Barney Rhyne and Pearl (Mayo) Rhyne. She was the youngest of seven children-four brothers and two sisters-all of whom preceded her in death. Maxine was raised in Tulsa and attended Webster High School. She met the love of her life, Jessie Alred Haynes, and the two were married on June 21, 1957, in Tulsa. Eight years later, they moved to Preston, Oklahoma, where they made their home and lived for the next 60 years. Together, Maxine and Jessie had two sons, Dickie Dwayne Haynes and Aaron Jay Haynes. Dickie preceded her in death on May 8, 2000. Jessie became a Free Will Baptist preacher, and for more than 30 years Maxine faithfully served alongside him as a devoted pastor's wife. She played the piano for the church for many of those years, sharing her love of music through worship. Maxine was also employed as the Cafeteria Manager for Preston Public Schools, retiring in the early 1990s. Maxine dearly loved her boys and took great joy in watching them inherit her musical talents, which brought her years of happiness and entertainment. Life took on new meaning for Maxine with the birth of her first granddaughter, Misti Dawn. She found pure joy in watching Misti make her way through the field to Mamaw's house. Soon after came Heather Renee and Brittany Blair, who also learned the familiar path across the field to Mamaw's.Tim and Allison Paige followed, already knowing just how fast to run through the field to Mamaw's. When her grandson, Jared Jessie, arrived, he made his trips in style-riding his little jeep through the field. Her final granddaughter, Mycah Ann, was welcomed with the same love, with Mamaw always ready to load her up in the car and bring her home. Maxine spent countless hours playing games with her grandchildren, teaching them Bible stories, and making sure they went to church. Holidays and summers were often spent at Mamaw and Pawpaw's, helping with the cows and making lifelong memories. Not a single birthday passed without a celebration at her home-Maxine made sure every family member felt special and loved. She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved dearly. Above all, Maxine loved Jesus. She also had a fond place in her heart for Pepsi and Hostess cupcakes-simple joys that brought her a smile. Her legacy of faith, love, music, and family devotion will live on in all who knew and loved her.
