Valerie Patricia Hill

Valerie Patricia Hill was the most compassionate, caring and giving person to everyone she met. She never met a stranger, valued listening to the life stories of others, and would wave and smile at every baby she saw, whether she knew them personally or was in the check-out line in a grocery store. She took great joy in being with her family and friends. The greatest loves of her life were her grandchildren: Easton (4) and Westley (2) Price, sons of her daughter and son-in-law Jennie and Christopher Price, and Gavin (4) and soon-to-be baby girl Campbell, son and daughter of her daughter of the heart, Sarah and Calvin Campbell. While Easton and Gavin are comforted that their Grammy is now with Jesus, they will miss her dearly because "they love her so much!" Valerie was born on October 4, 1954 in Tulsa to Ralph Wesley Hill and Jennie Elizabeth Pinkston. She was a graduate of Memorial High School and was part of their "Up with People" singing group that toured the United States spreading positive messages through singing and dance. She attended Tulsa Community College for a time enjoying writing and psychology classes. She would later go back to Tulsa Community College and graduate with her Associates Degree in Liberal Arts. Valerie retired from Sage Natural Resources on her birthday in 2021 and enjoyed retirement by going on adventures with her friends, and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. There was something about her that drew people in, like a moth to a flame. People instantly trusted her and would often share their life stories with her. When asked how she was able to connect with people so quickly and in such a deep and meaningful way, she responded with, "Honey, everyone wants someone to listen to them and to care what they have to say." That's exactly what she did. She cared about people, and she took care of people. She was always putting others before herself, whether it was buying diapers for a neighbor's baby down the street or becoming guardian to her daughter's best friend. Valerie was absolutely the best mother and grandmother. She would use every opportunity she had to teach her daughters and grandchildren life lessons. She was always open and honest with them and valued their education. She encouraged their creativity, invested her time, energy and wisdom into their lives and shaped them into the people they are today. She was incredibly funny and wonderfully sarcastic. She loved laughing with her friends and didn't mind laughing at herself as well. She was incredibly smart and always took an interest in current events, history, archeology, and was even a member of MENSA. She jumped at every opportunity to travel and loved exploring new places and going on adventures with her friends. She had the most beautiful soul and was so incredibly gracious. Donna Rogers, Gina Moore, and Marie Greninger could all attest to her loyalty, love, and kindness in their friendships. They all brought her so much joy. Valerie transitioned from this life on November 26, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her daughter Jennie Price (Chris); daughters of the heart Sarah Campbell (Calvin) and Kelly Pearce (Donald); grandchildren Easton James Price, Westley Ray Price, Gavin Paul Campbell, and soon-to-be baby girl Campbell; and siblings Robert Hill and Larry Hill (Jackie), niece Tonya Thompson ; nephew Tommy Thompson, along with a great many beloved cousins. Memorial Service will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 2, 2022 with reception following at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
