Obituary

Betty Ann (Edwards) Reed, born in Seiling, Oklahoma Nov 26, 1934, went home to be with Jesus February 23, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Preceded in death by her husband Arlie Glenn Reed, Father, Nine Merphy Edwards and Mother, Ora Lou (Heffington) Edwards, two older brothers Lawrence and Clarence, her younger brother Glen and three older sisters Virginia, Lois, and Alene.

Betty will be greatly missed by her son Stanley and his fiance Bonnie Roy, her son Randy and his wife Kelly and their three children, Steven Aimee and Gillian, along with Betty's sister and her husband, Pauline and Joe Long of Stroud and Betty's nephew and his wife, Gary and Corrine Long of Prague.

Betty grew up and went to school in Seiling and enjoyed playing on the Seiling basketball and track teams. Her junior year in high school her family moved to Pawhuska, OK where she became the first "Miss Pawhuska" and where she met the love of her life Arlie Glenn Reed. Glenn and Betty were married in Bartlesville OK. and soon after, were relocated by the Army to Kent, WA. where their oldest Son Stanley was the New Year Baby in 1955. Soon they were relocated to Panama for a short while and when Glen left the service they chose Tulsa, OK to be their home and attended Sheridan Road Baptist Church.

In 1958 their second Son Randy was born. One day in the 50's before Randy was born, Glenn, Betty and Stan were driving down Admiral when Betty saw a help wanted sign at C and R Cousins Furniture store. Betty got Glenn to turn around and go back and apply to be a salesman. That changed their lives forever because Glenn would have two furniture stores in his career which allowed Betty to be a homemaker until their two sons grew up and left home. Then Betty was happily employed at a yearbook and school picture company called Enterprise. She loved working there until she retired and enjoyed watching her three grand children Steven, Aimee and Gillian grow up in the Tulsa area.

Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 26, 2016 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
