Donna Maria Redyke

July 3, 1945 - June 16, 2022

Donna Redyke was born July 3, 1945 at St. John's Hospital. The much-loved native Tulsan died at home on June 16, 2022. Wife of James Redyke, Donna attended Marquette School and Bishop Kelley High School, graduating from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Elementary Education and a graduate degree in Elementary School Counseling and Administration Certification from Northeastern State University. Her thesis there is used as a reference for students in Elementary Counseling at NSU. She served as an outstanding Elementary Teacher and Counselor throughout Tulsa, and then Principal for Eliot Elementary School, serving Tulsa Public Schools for many years before retirement. Among her many civic duties, Donna was a graduate of Leadership Tulsa, past president of the Tulsa Mrs. Club, member of the Cooperation board for Kappa Alpha Theta sorority at the University of Tulsa PanHellenic, the Saint Charles Guild, Town Hall, a book club, past member of Chaine des Rotisseurs, active in campaigning for the March of Dimes and American Heart Association, and member of Saint Bernard's Catholic parish. She was an avid reader, outstanding cook and floral arranger, as well as a frequent traveler with her husband, with whom she was a proud grandparent of Cash, Sam and Rex. Beloved daughter of Fred and Ramona Phelps of Tulsa, Donna is mourned by a large family: husband James Redyke; sister Loretta Phelps de Cordova of Puerto Rico, niece and nephews Lisa Cordova and husband Jeff Johnson, Esteban and Leamir Cordova, Andres and Noemi Cordova, Raul and Demetra Cordova with ten Cordova grandnephews and nieces; step children Elizabeth and husband Kyle Clark and their children Cash and Sam; stepsons Ryan and Jared and their families; sister in law Jill Crawford, husband Bill, children Amy and Scott; sister in law Yvonne Phelps; and many cousins in the Clote and Kelly families. A viewing will be held on June 22 Wednesday from 9 AM until 8 PM at Moore's Funeral Home at 9350 East 51st St. The funeral services are being held at First United Methodist Church at 10 AM on June 23, followed by burial services at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in the Clote/Phelps family plot. Friends and family are invited to Donna and Jim's home afterwards for a come and go. We hold in our hearts memories of Donna, a kind, generous and loving woman who is now at rest with Our Lord. Donna's service will be live streamed at First United Methodist Church (online.church) Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
