Obituary

Ellen Marie Provin was born on October 26, 1934 to Homer and Beatrice Elliott Polley in Brimson, MO. Ellen passed away May 16, 2020 at Arbor Village Nursing Home in Sapulpa, OK, where she had resided since February 2019. She was surrounded by her husband, Gene and their three children as she quietly entered Heaven.

Ellen accepted the Lord and was baptized when she was 12 years old. She spent a lot of her childhood and often spoke of her memories with her Grandma Olive Polley.

Ellen and Gene began dating when she was 15. She graduated from South Harrison High School at the age of 17 on May 16, 1952. She waited two days before marrying her life long love, Gene, on May 18, 1952, a marriage that lasted two days short of their 68th wedding anniversary.

Ellen and Gene spent their first two years of marriage in Fort Bragg, NC while Gene served our country in the Army. For extra money Ellen washed solders uniforms in her kitchen sink then starched and ironed them.

Following Gene's discharge from the Army they returned to Ridgeway, MO and started their family. Teresa was born May 11, 1955, Janesa was born November 20, 1959 and Jeff surprised them on January 6, 1972.

In 1983, Gene and Ellen relocated to St. Joseph, MO where Ellen pursued a career in Real Estate. In 1989 Ellen was honored with the One Million Dollar Producer award. After retiring in 1998 Ellen and Gene bought an RV and traveled the United States visiting 48 of our 50 states. They wintered with family and friends in McAllen, TX for three winters. In 2007 they decided to leave their home in Missouri and relocate to Broken Arrow, OK.

Ellen enjoyed watching her grandchildren in any activity they were involved. She loved her Kansas City Chiefs, St Louis Cardinals and Oklahoma City Thunder. Much to everyone's surprise she knew everything about each player and spent many happy hours watching her teams play cheering them on to win.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Gene of the home. Two daughters, Teresa(Keith) Irwin of Bartlesville, OK, and Janesa(Marty) Lademann of Keifer, OK; son, Jeff(Rachel) Provin of Tulsa, OK; sister, Elaine Barber of Waldron, MO; sister-in-law, Pat(Kenny) Hall of Bethany, MO; sister-in-law, Jane Ann Polley of Bethany, MO.
