Glenda Louise Woody

July 11, 1942 - February 9, 2022

Glenda Louise Woody was born on Saturday, July 11, 1942, in Earlsboro, OK to James "Vessie" and Carrie Opal (Young) Woody. She passed from this life on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, in Tulsa, OK. Glenda was the fifth of eight children. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings - Wanda, Bobby, Noel, Leon, Johnny, and Marilyn. She is survived by her devoted Brother, Keith (Sharon) Woody of Rockport, TX; Niece, Carrie (Jim) Williams of Broken Arrow; Nephew, Billy (Tammy) Pace of Sand Springs; Niece, Angie (David) Squyres of Port Lavaca, TX; Niece, Dawn Mungia of Port Lavaca, TX; Nephew, Tyrone Gray of Pass Christian, MS; Niece, Genesia Starnes of Ingleside, TX; Niece, Windi Lee of Rockport, TX, and many other grand-nephews / grand-nieces. After graduating from Aransas Pass High School in 1960, she dove off into a lifelong career in the oil & gas industry. In fact, Glenda's career in the oil & gas industry spanned well over 40 years. She was the first woman to take a position of "Land Man" for Phillips 66 in Houston, Texas in the mid-60s, blazing a trail for many women after her. Her career path brought her to Tulsa where Glenda worked for such companies as Santa Fe Minerals, Samson Resources and eventually retiring from OneOK in 2007 as an Oil/Gas Analyst. Glenda's strong work ethic, wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022; 2:00 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery in Sand Springs; Pastor Scott Palmer officiating. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
