Homer Charles Miller

May 26, 1929 - February 8, 2022

Homer Charles Miller, 92, of Tulsa, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022. He was born Sunday, May 26, 1929, in De Leon, TX, to Eddie and Lena Miller. He was the youngest of eleven brothers and sisters, all of whom have preceded him in death. He served in the U.S. Air Force from July 2, 1948 - July 1, 1952, attaining the rank of staff sergeant as an instrument flight instructor. Homer met his wife Josephine in Big Lake, TX. They were married June 5, 1953. After moving a few times they settled in Tulsa, OK in 1958. They became members of a new parish, St. Pius X Catholic Church. Homer worked with other members to build a new school, an accomplishment of which he was very proud. All their children attended school at St. Pius X. Homer had a career spanning many years with American Oil (Amoco) as a "shiny bottom bookkeeper", ultimately achieving the position of supervisor of center administration. In his free time Homer was a passionate fisherman, and had many boating adventure stories. In retirement Homer became a skilled small engine repair mechanic, and enjoyed some traveling with Josephine. Homer is survived by his wife, Josephine; his four children, Charles Miller and wife Liz, Jo Lynch and husband, Ken, Janet Sjulin and husband, Mike, and Patricia Dietz and husband, Rich. Homer has five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Pius X School.
