Jemolee Cole

Jemolee Cole, age 91, loving wife of Tuel Cole and mother to Cheryl and Linda passed from this life peacefully into the arms of Jesus at her home in Catoosa, OK on Sunday, December 26, 2021. Jemolee was born December 23, 1930, in Conway County, AR to Roy Jefferson and Gertha Mayona (Bridgman) Martin. She was the eldest of four children followed by her brothers Billy, James, and her sister Frances. Jemolee graduated from Plumerville, AR High School and received her bachelor's degree in vocational home economics from Arkansas Teachers College, Conway, AR in 1952. While Jemolee was teaching in Arkansas her dad was offered a job as head mechanic for Herbert Moody's John Deere Tractor franchise in Porter, Oklahoma. While Jemolee was on summer break visiting her folks in Porter, she was offered the position of vocational home economics teacher for Porter High School. Jemolee met her husband and best friend, Tuel while teaching there. He was visiting family in the Choska Bottoms of Porter. Tuel was employed as a high school science teacher in Centralia, MO. Following a whirlwind romance, they were married in Porter on June 15, 1956. Jemolee was offered and accepted a teaching position in Centralia, so she and Tuel could teach in the same school district. Jemolee also taught high school home economics and was the Future Homemakers of America sponsor in Oaks, OK. In 1966, Jemolee accepted a position in Wagoner, OK as the junior high home economics and junior high science teacher. She taught in Wagoner until her retirement in May 1990. She had a lot of great memories and made some lasting friendships while teaching in Wagoner. Jemolee and Tuel spent their retirement years living in their motor home and fishing throughout several different states. They got to see Alaska and visit Hawaii several times, as well as travel to St. Petersburg, Russia, Norway, Sweden, and other Baltic countries. Jemolee loved to cook and bake for family and friends, she loved to read, fish, work in her flower garden and travel. She was preceded in death by both parents, her brothers, James and Billy Martin. Jemolee is survived by her husband, Tuel of the home, daughters, Cheryl (Stan) Murray of Wagoner, Linda Kelley (Rod Embree) of Claremore, her sister, Frances (Ed) Swalley, her sister-in-law, Ailene Childress, six grandchildren, Jeremy (Melinda) Foster, Melissa Foster, Amanda (Scott) Ward, Stephanie (Steven) Tucker, Justin Kelley, and Dana (Dillon) Paez. Eight great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Viewing will be Wednesday, December 29 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm at Moore Funeral Home Southlawn, 9350 E 51st, Tulsa, OK. A Celebration of Life will take place at Moore Funeral Home Southlawn Chapel, Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 1:00. Burial will follow at Haskell City Cemetery in Haskell, OK Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
