She passed away peacefully at her home in Houston, TX on April 14, 2022, just one month shy of her 91st birthday. She graduated in 1949 from Will Rogers High School. There she met her husband of 54 years, Tommy Williams, a 1948 graduate. They married on April 7, 1950 and made their home in Tulsa where they raised their three daughters, Sandi, Sharon and Susan. She loved high school activities and was active in reunions and communications with her classmates for many years. She and Tommy loved to dance and were accomplished jitterbug dancers. Several of her high school friends took tap dancing class later in life and performed at high school reunions. At age 74, she and some of her classmates performed on the sidewalks in New York City. In 2014, Joyce left Tulsa for Houston, Texas to be near her daughters. She made her new home at the Abbey, an independent living facility in Houston. It was there she met George Dayhoff, and they were married in 2016 and enjoyed six wonderful years together.
