Karl Dean Eason

November 6, 1937 - February 2, 2022

Karl died February 2, 2022 at the age of 84. He was born in Stroud, OK to Earl and Loretta Eason. Karl graduated from Stroud High School in 1956. He then attended several colleges on baseball and football scholarships and ultimately graduated from Central State University in Edmond in 1959. After college he taught school and coached baseball, basketball and football and led several teams to state playoffs and championships. The Dewey High School baseball team he coached played against a team baseball hall of fame catcher Johnny Bench played for, when Johnny was the pitcher. Karl met the love of his life, Doris Ann Shanks, in February 1958 and the two were married on January 24, 1959 in Arkansas City, KS. Karl and Doris adopted Steve and Kelli on July 2, 1965, and their miracle child, Amy Renee, was born November 23,1972 (Thanksgiving Day). Karl worked multiple jobs, including insurance agent, Sales Manager for B&B Freight Lines, and Regional Manager for Triangle Express, the company from which he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bobby; and two sisters, Ovalene and Karolyn; and his youngest daughter, Amy. Karl is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris; a son, Steven Jay Eason and wife, Kim; a daughter, Kelli Dawn Kelley, and husband Craig. Grandchildren are: Brandon Fryhover, Travis Eason and fiancee, Stevey Conger; Cory Kelley, Lacey Fryhover and fiancee, Jake Morgan; Jordan Fryhover, Theodore Kelley and wife, Bailey; Lindsey Dukes and husband, Travis; Mayson Fryhover, and Taryn Vandegrift and husband, Blake. Great-grandchildren: Kash, Lainey, Laken, and Tinley. Viewing will be 10AM-8PM, Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 7, 2022 at Tulsa Christian Fellowship, 2121 E. 3rd, Tulsa, OK. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233 In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that donations could be made to Tulsa Christian Fellowship Church, 2121 E. Third Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74104
