Lawrence John Hoilien

August 27, 1944 - October 28, 2021

LAWRENCE (Larry) JOHN HOILIEN: Born on Aug. 27, 1944, to Maurice and Agnes Hoilien. Died on Oct. 28, 2021. He is survived by his brother, Jimmy in Louisiana. Lawrence always had an affinity to be near the water. Born on the Pacific coast in Eureka, CA, he spent his retirement years on the shores of Grand Lake. Graduated from the University Of Oklahoma, Larry spent years of his professional life in Sales at Freightliner of Tulsa. He remained active in the trucking industry until his passing. A natural athlete, Larry was not one to sit around. He always had home projects brewing, but was ever ready to takeoff for a tennis match at Shadow Mountain when a call came. Larry's first wife, Sally Love Hoilien passed away in 1979. He and Jill Byrne Hoilien were married, then remained good friends. Larry served in Vietnam in the Fifth Special Forces of the US Army. He benefited greatly from the VA and other fellow veterans. Always a talker, he enjoyed visiting with neighbors while tinkering with his stable of red cars... He enjoyed serving at Alive Church and the fellowship provided there. He was happy to live 'on the water' in his final years Survivors include Trent A Hoilien, (Lorraine) and their three sons, Hunter, Tyler and Logan; Ashlee M. Newton, (Jon) and son, Porter and daughters, Maggie and Gracie. The Oklahoma grandkids always looked forward to trips at the lake with Dadoo! Lawrence's family wishes to thank the medical team at Saint Francis for their efforts and kindness, especially Camryn and Dr. Hong. Funeral Service will be Friday, November 5th, 2:00PM, at Moore Southlawn Chapel. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
