Lorraine Mary King

May 25, 1932 - May 15, 2022

Lorraine M. King, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, May 15, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born May 25, 1932 in Baltimore, Maryland, to Clemens and Rose (Punte) Mueller. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond S. King, her parents, and her four brothers, Clemens Mueller, Joseph Mueller, Charles Mueller and Anthony Mueller. Also preceded by two great grandchildren, Brody and Wyatt, with whom she is currently cuddling, singing out of tune to and rocking. Once out of high school, Lorraine did some schooling to be a secretary and took some special art classes which was her passion. As a young woman she taught sewing to women much older than her for a time and dreamed of becoming a dress designer. She spent much of her life as a seamstress sewing and designing clothes for family and friends. In the 70's, Lorraine and her husband, Ray, owned an arts & craft store in Tulsa called the Glue Pot for a few years where she taught Tole painting and Ray made frames. Her hobbies included all kinds of arts and crafts, painting, flower arranging and home decorating over the years. She also enjoyed crocheting and would crochet caps and booties and donate them to St. Francis hospital for newborn and preemie babies. She enjoyed visiting family from coast to coast, Texas to Illinois and Ohio, with her husband and always dreamed of going to Hawaii. Lorraine took pride in lovingly raising her family and spent time and holidays with treasured friends who became extended family throughout the years. The last memory of mom that I want to leave with all is that of our dad sweeping her up in his arms as she crossed over and waltzing her away on top of the clouds with her smiling and laughing...oh how she loved to dance! Lorraine is survived by four children: Walter C. King and wife, Judy; Timothy J. King and wife, Elizabeth; Martin J. King and wife, Lisa; a daughter, Elaina (King) Culver and husband, Kyle, and an ex daughter-in-law, Tami (Bauer) King, with whom she remained close; 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, mom would want you to keep your money and enjoy a nice dinner with family and friends in her honor. If you feel the need to donate, please consider her favorite charity in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org ). Private Family Service. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
