After more than ninety-five cheerful and kindhearted years, Maxine Mozel Carter Chalmers has left this life. A mother, wife, and homemaker in her middle years , Maxine was an artist before, during, and after. In varying media, she painted the world as she saw it - more wistful than a
photo and gentler than reality. Maxine was a wonderful person who boundlessly loved her broad and deep family from her parents and grandparents before her to the great-grandchildren she left
behind. We, in turn , deeply loved her and will miss her sparkle.

Maxine was preceded in death by her cherished loved ones, husband James S. Chalmers III, her son, John Carter Chalmers, her mother and father, Ollie Lee and J. I. Carter, her brother Jimmy Carter, her dear aunt Arlie Frasier, and her many close cousins. Her legacy is continued by her sons and their wives, Scott and Judy Chalmers, and Steve and Tracey Chalmers. Her heritage is also sustained by her grandson Jason Chalmers, his wife Sonja; her granddaughter Keely Mendell, and her husband Jason; her step-granddaughter, Lindsey Smothers, and her great-grandchildren
Annabelle and James Chalmers and Avery and Henry Mendell. Maxine will also be missed by her nieces Christie Burk and her husband Michael, Becky Burke and her husband Pat, her nephews Kelly Carter and Jim Carter and his wife Monica; her cousins Ora May Frasier Harrison and Jim Frasier and his wife Sally.

Maxine's family would like to thank those that enhanced her life and enjoyed her too. We greatly appreciate the loving people who helped her in her last years In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , the Cancer Research Institute, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
