Richard Treavor Lewis

September 8, 1938 - January 11, 2022

Richard Treavor Lewis passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Richard was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 8, 1938, to John and Della Lewis. Richard attended Union Schools until joining the U.S. Army in September 1957. Following basic training at Fort Hood, Texas, and advanced training at Fort Lee, Virginia, he served as an infantryman in Japan, Korea, and Germany. He married his high-school sweetheart Wilma Leona Payne on November 20, 1958. After leaving Army service in 1963, Richard and Wilma returned home to Tulsa where they would own two small grocery stores. Moving the family to Claremore, Oklahoma in 1967, Richard worked as a cookie and soda salesman then as a foreman for a Tulsa mobile home manufacturer. He moved his family back to Tulsa in 1973 when he started his own construction business and began once again attending and raising his family in the Alsuma Free Holiness Church that his father had helped build and lead. He tried to retire a few times but just couldn't sit still, so he continued working hard as a partner with his son Daniel at Best Choice Guttering. Richard walked closely with our Lord Jesus Christ and let the light of our Savior shine through in all that he did in helping others throughout his life. Richard was preceded in death by his father, John, his mother, Della, and his six siblings Bobby Jo, John Paul, Sam, Jane, Margie, and Mike. He is survived by his wife, Wilma, his three sons Rick, Chuck, and Daniel, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Viewing will be 10AM-6PM, Monday, January 17, 2022, at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK. Funeral Service will be 10 AM, Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel.
