Robert Russell Raatz

September 29, 1923 - April 12, 2022

Robert (Bob) Russell Raatz began his life's venture on September 29, 1923 in St. Paul, MN. He left his earthly home peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946 in New Guinea, Southern Philippines. He retired after 39 years with Cities Service/Occidental Oil Company. His love of music was greatly enjoyed by being in his church choirs and Messiah concerts at First Lutheran and Joy Lutheran Church for over 30 years. Bob volunteered over the years with Project Get Together, Habitat for Humanity, and First Lutheran's Manna Bowl for the homeless. He was always involved in serving on many church committees and Bible studies. He loved to read and do daily crossword puzzles and tend to his yard and garden. You could often find him sitting outside enjoying nature or riding his bike. Bob is survived by his wife, Auverne, with over 73 years of marriage; four daughters, Linda Ray and her husband, Tom, Karen Maney, Joan Raatz, Susan Bunn and her husband, Steve; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Thank you to Transitions Lifecare Hospice who helped with Bob's care and comfort. Viewing 10am-8pm, Sunday, April 17, 2022 and 8am-12n, Monday, April 18, 2022 with the funeral service following at 2pm at Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in Floral Haven Cemetery. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
