Robert "Bob" Thurman

November 3, 1955 - January 23, 2022

Robert Martin Thurman was born on November 3rd, 1955 in Claremore Oklahoma to his parents Lillian and Lee Thurman. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 23rd, 2022. Robert achieved his Diploma from Nathan Hale high school in 1974. Shortly after his graduation in 1976 he began serving in the Air Force as a Firefighter until he was medically discharged in 1977. He worked as a construction painter with his father Lee for many years and continued to paint until his final retirement in 2010. After his retirement - He then spent many of his days relaxing in his home with his wife and son listening to his favorite band: Chicago. He also enjoyed taking long walks to the local stores nearby and drawing cartoons in his free time. He was a devoted Christian who liked to read his King James bible daily. He was a passionate man who always put his family first. Robert always preferred you call him Bob. He was a friendly face to many throughout his ventures in life - as Bob never knew a stranger. He was always a helping hand to those in need. He walked through his life with an unshakeable confidence in his choices and inspired many to feel passionate about theirs as well. Bob was a proud dad and he always shared stories with others that reflected that. One thing many heard from Bob was how, even though he struggled with different things throughout his life, he always had the optimism that he could overcome the obstacles before him with God's help. You would leave a conversation with Bob knowing that he truly believed God would deliver him and it would inspire you to feel the same. He is survived by his wife Esther, his son Joshua, and his sister Donna. Robert will be available for personal viewing for close family and friends on the morning of Saturday, January 29th at Moore Funeral home - Southlawn Chapel.
