William Wray McCollum

January 4, 1945 - April 21, 2022

William Wray McCollum, 77, born to Troy and Thelma (Wray) McCollum on January 4, 1945 in Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away April 21, 2022 in Tulsa, OK. William was in the United States Army from 1967-1972 starting as a Private to Specialist 5 MOS 04B2LVN Vietnamese linguist. He served in Vietnam, Japan and Thailand and received a Bronze Star in 1970. William attended the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond where he received a B.S. in mathematics in 1973, a B.A. in Sociology-Psychology in 1974, a M.Ed. Community-Jr. College Ed-Sociology in 1975 and in 1983 a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law. He worked for the Department of Corrections in Oklahoma City and Tulsa from 12/1974 to 6/1998 holding several positions and in Tulsa, Oklahoma from 7/1998 to 12/2010 where he was a Grants Administrator and Grants Manager. William was CASA Volunteer of the year, worked with Big Brother and Big Sister and was in Green Country Water Garden Society. He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Thelma. William is survived by his wife: Susan McCollum; daughters: Leslie Hickman and Cheryl Frost; brother: Mike and Jody McCollum; grandchildren: Nick Frost and Holly Frost; nieces and nephews: Diego McCollum, Satchel McCollum, Rashi Roberson, Callye Crespo and Toamey Wagner. Memorial Service pending with Moore's Rosewood Chapel.
