Abbye Dean (Jackie) Powell, 94, was born June 2, 1920 in Cruse, Ok, died on October 11, 2014, in Catoosa, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents and her 7 siblings. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Powell in 1970. Jackie taught in Oklahoma Public Schools for 42 years.
She was an avid gardener, volunteer, Bible class teacher, and world traveler. She was a member of the church of Christ.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy McCoy, wife of Mark McCoy of Catoosa, Oklahoma, and her 4 grandchildren, Rachel Olsen, wife of Ryan Olsen of Vinita, John McCoy and wife Catherine of Tulsa, David McCoy and wife Jacqueline of Tulsa, and Ben McCoy of Catoosa. She leaves numerous nieces and nephews, and many loving friends.
