Obituary
Adrienna was born to Robert Curtis and Lydia Augerhole Curtis on February 15, 1918 in Braggs, Oklahoma. She graduated to heaven on July 5, 2020 at 102 years young in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Adrienna was the most generous, faithful & caring wife, mother, grandma, grandma great, sister, aunt and friend.
Adrienna was Cherokee and graduated from Chilocco Indian School in Kay County, Oklahoma and went on to graduate top of her class as a Registered Nurse in 1942 in Tulsa County, Oklahoma. She worked in Public Health, as a private nurse, and in two of the Tulsa hospitals.
Adrienna married Ora Harris Birkes, Jr. in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 22, 1940 and they were married for 67 years until he graduated to heaven on August 24, 2007. Adrienna & Harris attended the Baptist Church and she remained a Baptist for 71 years. She was a Charter member of Chatter Book Club (established in 1959) for over 40 years. She was also a member in Tulsa of the History & Literature Club (established in 1915). And as an avid flower gardener with an amazing green thumb, she was also a Member of a garden club.
Adrienna & Harris loved cooking delicious homemade meals together. They also loved traveling and exploring the United States together many times with her older brother and his wife. They loved spending time with their family and their many longtime friends and making new friends.
Adrienna is survived by her daughter, Patricia Birkes Towles and son-in-law Bill Towles, granddaughter Kristin Towles, grandson Christopher Towles & his wife Ashley Towles, and four
great grandchildren Gianni, Hayden, Andres, and Laili. Adrienna had eleven siblings Lewis, Mary, Jimroe, Leonard, Homer, Carl, Clyde, Max, William, Thad, and Gay, and many nieces and nephews; two widowed sisters-in-law both named Kathryn Curtis. Her oldest surviving sibling Leonard Curtis is 98 years young.
Viewing will be 8-10AM, Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Moore's Southlawn, 9350 E. 51st, Tulsa, OK followed by a 10:00 A.M., Funeral Service at Moore's Southlawn Chapel Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
