Alice Elaine Hack, 84, was called home on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in Colleyville, TX.
Elaine was a truly remarkable woman loved by her children and grandchildren. She was born in Llano, Texas on June 17, 1934. She was valedictorian of her high school class in Austin and finished her degree at the University of Texas in Austin. She met and married her husband of 57 years, Charlie Hack, during college at the University Baptist Church. She received her Master of Science degree in Mathematics from McNeese State College in Louisiana while raising four young children.
Charlie and Elaine settled in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she worked for John Hausam as a real estate agent for over ten years. Upon retirement Elaine taught math at the Spartan School of Aeronautics. She was passionate about education and cherished helping her students learn math. Charlie and Elaine were active members of Asbury Methodist Church.
Shortly after her Charlie's death in 2011, Elaine was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. The Alzheimer's journey is a challenging struggle. One of the little joys of this tough journey was singing the "The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You" with Elaine. At times the song seemed to erase the effects of the disease for a few precious moments.
Most importantly, Elaine loved the Lord and modeled that love for her family. What a comforting joy it was in the final days to know that Elaine was moving to her new home with Jesus. What a gift of God's love it is to recite the promise of Revelations 21:4 - And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Elaine is survived by her four children, Julie Glenn, Laurie Luetjen, Amy Daley, Randy Hack, and ten grandchildren, Eric and Kate Glenn, Christopher, Kelsey, Jenna, and Tanner Luetjen, and Connor, Landon, Carson, and Liam Hack.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Private graveside service will be held Tuesday Oct 9 for family members at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233 share memories at
