Allene Sue Griffith, 80, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, June 28th, 2019. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska on December 11th, 1938 to Harold and Blanche Plouzek. She graduated from Tulsa's Central High School in 1956. After graduation she attended Tulsa University, earning a B.S. in Business Administration. While at TU she was a member of the Scroll organization as well as Phi Gamma Kappa.

After graduation from TU in 1960, she worked on campus as a secretary to Dean Hargrove. In 1973, she began working for the IRS as an auditor and later became an appeal's officer. She retired from the IRS in 1995 after 22 years.

Her hobbies and passions include reading, Scrabble, attending concerts and TU football and basketball games, and baking cookies. To her grandchildren she is known as the "cookie lady". Allene also volunteered as a tutor in the Tulsa City-County Library's Adult Literacy Program.

Allene is survived by her husband Earl of 59 years, daughter Julie Griffith of Tulsa, son and wife Greg and Wendy Griffith of Fort Smith, AR, granddaughter Payton Griffith of Fort Smith, AR, granddaughter and spouse Kori and Ryan Stewart of Fort Smith, AR, grandson and spouse Taylor and Megan Slayton of Van Buren, AR, and 2 great grandchildren.
