Andrew L. Pierson

Andrew Leighton Hale Pierson, 80, died Monday, February 10, 2014, at his residence surrounded by family. Andrew was born in Bloomington, Indiana, April 12, 1933, to Forest G. & Mary J. Pierson.
He served for two years in the US Navy, on board the repair ship the USS Vulcan, and then earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Indiana University.
He retired from Occidental Petroleum as Director of Employee Benefits and Compensation in 1994.
He also served on the Board of the City of Tulsa's Municipal Employee Retirement Plan, and when he retired from the board in 2012, he was the longest serving board member.
After retirement, Andy and Bea enjoyed traveling, motorcycling, gardening, and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Andrew is survived by: Beatrice, his wife of 59 years, sons Michael Pierson of Tulsa, OK, Shaun Pierson and his wife Ivy, of Santa Clarita, CA, and daughter Mary Jane Halley and husband Mike, of Sand Springs, OK, and 4 grandchildren: Hannah & Heather Halley, and Andrew & Isabel Pierson.
A memorial celebration in Andy's honor for friends and family will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014, 1:00 pm at the Fitzgerald Southwood Chapel, 3612 E. 91st St, Tulsa.
