Obituary

Andrew Benjamin Schouten was called to his eternal home by his heavenly Father on June 10, 2024.
Andrew was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on November 12, 1977, with hemihypertrophy as well as ABO incompatibility. He struggled through High School and a week after graduating, he went to work in a machine shop. He had several different jobs for the next 9 or 10 years and even attempted College. Andrew was diagnosed with young onset Parkinson's disease in 2006. He continued to work part-time at Reasor's as a courtesy clerk for as long as he was able.
Andrew was raised in Will Rogers UMC but joined Asbury UMC in 2000 where he had been a faithful member. He was not perfect, but he was a good son with a tender heart who loved all animals; especially, Orcas.
Andrew was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Jean Schouten (who loved him very much and has surely been anxiously awaiting his arrival to his eternal home), as well as his grandparents. He is survived by his father, Robert Paul Schouten, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and second cousins.
A memorial service will be held in the Asbury UMC Chapel, 6767 S. Mingo Rd, Tulsa, OK at 3 p.m. on June 21st, 2024.
1 Thessalonians 4: 13-14 (NIV)
13. Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.
14. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
