Anita Carrier, was a remarkable woman, who initially intimidated some but ultimately won everyone's affection upon getting to know her. Born May 27,1942 to Bernard and Rose Tomanio in Utica, NY. She passed peacefully on August 30,2024 in Tulsa, OK.
Anita grew up in Utica graduating from Proctor High School. She met Jospeh Carrier Sr and married. Later having 3 children. She put herself into nursing school and later becoming a Radiology Technician.
She was renowned for her unwavering commitment to sobriety for four decades, she diligently practiced the principles of AA and found solace in helping others within the program. Despite the tragic loss of two of her children, she remained steadfast in her sobriety, becoming a beacon of inspiration and support for those she sponsored and everyone who crossed her path.
She had a passion for cooking and enjoyed providing meals for her family. Her culinary skills served as an inspiration for her granddaughter, Madison, to pursue her own interest in culinary arts. She expressed gratitude for the time she spent on Earth and the cherished moments with her family.
During her final days, she was surrounded by her immediate family, who held the most special place in her heart. Her son, Bernard, his wife, Amanda, and their daughter, Madison, remained by her side until the very end. She passed away peacefully and comfortably.
Her passing will leave a significant void in the AA community and in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. However, we find solace in the knowledge that she is now free from pain, reunited with Jesus, and embraced by her loved ones who have gone before her.
She was preceded in life by her parents, Bernard and Rose Tomanio, her daughter, Rosemarie Carrier McDougal, and her son, Jospeh Carrier Jr. She is survived by her son, Bernard, and his family, including his wife, Amanda, and their children. Additionally, she leaves behind her sister, Bernadette Almond, and her husband, Donnie, along with their children. Her granddaughter, Elisa Blankenship, her husband, and their children, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and four great-grandchildren, who will also cherish her memory.
