Obituary

Anita was born on May 7, 1947, in Roy, New Mexico, to Eleanor Bachlor. Later in life, Ellie married Charlie Bachlor, who became Anita's real father. She was married, had two children and eventually divorced. Anita came back to the Catholic Church at the Church of Saint Benedict, where she was a founding member. There she helped to start a support group for single adults. Anita held several positions for the newly formed HMO, Blue Lincs of Oklahoma. She retired in order to work for Deacon Lee Ellis, who had just purchased the Catholic Book and Gift store. Anita was on the team that started The Beginning Experience ministry to those grieving a loss through death or divorce. She was instrumental in bringing retrouvaille to this diocese. It is a ministry to support marriage and help couples recapture their love in that sacrament. Anita had a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed and loved by all. May she rest in eternal peace.

Anita is survived by her husband of 32 years, Craig Gunter; siblings, Junior, Trish, Betty and Andrea; her children Jeff, Shannon and Anne; and her grandchildren, Lauren, Mac and Tori.
