Obituary

Ann Cathlene Lowe Davis was born September 25, 1959 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to John and Mary Lowe. She passed from this life after a courageous battle with cancer on March 4, 2018 at Inverness Village, Tulsa. Her friend since youth, Peggy Roark Ivie, was by her side. Other dear friends also took turns sitting with her during her final three weeks.
Ann was her parents' cherished girl with two older brothers. She attended school in Tahlequah, graduating from Tahlequah High School June 2, 1977. She was loved by many friends in the school community, enjoying outings to the river, especially Goats Head Bluff. In 1981, Gale Burton Harms became her husband. Their marriage later ended. She then attended Central State University in Edmond and received her B.A. in Psychology there July 30, 1985.
Ann went on to attend NSU in Tahlequah and earned a Master of Science degree in Psychology May 16, 1992. Ann moved to Austin, Texas in the early 1990s. There she received her Professional Counselor Board Certification in Texas June 2, 1997 and started her dream career as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She deeply loved working with clients and had an exceptional gift for helping others. Ann often spoke of her time with young people with whom she shared a natural connection.
She met Glen Michael Davis and they were married in 1999. Ann and Michael later divorced in 2011. Ann moved back to Tulsa in 2014 and set up residence to be near her failing mother and remaining family. It was in Tulsa that she was diagnosed with cancer.
Ann eventually lost her entire family, found herself alone and facing cancer. She had enduring resiliency and inner strength and an incredible passion for life. She gained and held a close-knit extended "family" of friends who loved her generous spirit and honest vulnerability. Ann was a deeply caring soul who could delight and frustrate, amaze and overwhelm, delight and dismay her friends with her spontaneous, energetic personality, creative energy and personal drive.
In 2016 Ann purchased an old farm house on some property in north Tulsa and it shortly became her home retreat. Ann used her gifts for interior design and creative craftsmanship to transform the house into a warm, inviting space. She loved being there with her two feline companions, Maize and Pooh, and with her many varied plants, family photos, and furnishings, each with its own story. She enjoyed having friends over for long talks, girl's movie nights, grilling outdoors or just sitting with a glass of mixed tea on her front porch. Ann was a spark of glorious life that touched her friends and she is dearly missed.
A service to celebrate her life is planned for 11:00 am on March 17 at Inverness Village at 3800 W. 71st Street in Tulsa Oklahoma. This celebration will be followed later by a special committal service at Goats Head Bluff on the Illinois River outside of Tahlequah.
