Obituary

Ann Marie Herlacher, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 23, 2025. She passed peacefully, surrounded by family, after a life marked by joy, faith, and a deep love for others.

Born December 26, 1938, in Pasadena, California, Ann Marie was the daughter of Wes and Evelyn Sanner. Her lifelong faith began at Pasadena First Church of the Nazarene. She attended Pasadena College (now Point Loma Nazarene University) and was featured in the 1969 edition of Outstanding Young Women of America. At 19, Ann Marie married the love of her life, Dr. Victor "Vic" Herlacher, faithfully supporting him through medical school while teaching. Together they built a Christ-centered home devoted to family, ministry, and service. Once their children arrived, she considered staying home with them one of her greatest blessings. She also partnered closely with Vic in building his medical practice and later in their successful Amway business, which brought meaningful relationships, international travel & speaking engagements, and continued support into retirement.

Ann Marie's joyful presence could brighten any room. She also endured significant challenges with remarkable strength-including cancer, chronic pain from a severe and untreatable back fracture, and caring for Vic after his car accident which left him with a traumatic brain injury. Her faith, family, and church community (Church on the Way & Compass Bible Church), sustained her through those difficult years.

After decades in California, Ann Marie and Vic moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to be near their son Rick and his family. Following Vic's passing, she became a devoted member of The Assembly Church in Broken Arrow. When unable to attend in person, she faithfully watched the weekly 9 a.m. service online and participated in worship gatherings at Burgundy Place, where she spent her final years. The residents, staff, and friends who visited her often were a tremendous comfort.

She is survived by her daughter Janice (Herlacher) Clark and husband Mick of Granada Hills, CA; Rick Herlacher and wife Kristi (Brown) Herlacher of Tulsa, OK. She is preceded in death by her daughter Cheryl (Herlacher) Graves who was survived by her husband Bob of Montclair, CA. Ann Marie is also survived by her eight grandchildren; Michael Clark and wife Kate, Rachel (Clark) Passantino and husband Shane; Josh Clark and wife Brittany; David Clark; Katlin (Herlacher) Jakovich and husband Conner; Chloe (Herlacher) Laughlin and husband Hunter; Luke Herlacher and Jacob Herlacher, and her four great grandchildren; Asher Passantino, Naomi Jakovich, Levi Jakovich and Baby Laughlin due Feb 2026. She is also survived by her brother Dick Sanner and wife Linda; nephew Kevin Sanner and wife Charlene and their three children; nephew Sean Sanner (who preceded her in death) and wife Kim and their three children; niece Charis and husband Andrew and their two children; and sister in laws Linda Ham and Karen Kasel and their families.

Ann Marie loved tending her roses, keeping a warm and welcoming home, hosting family and friends, and caring for the antique clocks that she and Vic collected (all chiming in sync). Her most treasured belonging was her grandmother's Bible, which she read daily.

Above all, Ann Marie loved people and shared the love of Jesus with everyone she met. Her kindness, warmth, and steadfast faith touched countless lives. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
