Anna Louise Locke, 83, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 1977, at her residence at St. Simeon's Senior Community, Tulsa, OK. She was born in Los Angeles, CA, on Friday, January 12, 1894, to David Clark "D. C." Morrison and Elva Belle (Galbreth) Morrison. Louise was married to Jeremiah "Jere" Matthew Locke, the former operator of S. B. Locke, Inc., a Muskogee, OK cotton brokerage firm. She had previously lived at 533 N. 13th Street, Muskogee, OK, a historic home built around 1908, by C. B. McCluskey, which her father-in-law, Samuel Bowman "S. B." Locke later purchased. Louise moved to Tulsa, OK, in 1975. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Tulsa, OK, and attended Ward-Belmont College in Nashville, TN. Louise is remembered for her work in the St. Paul Methodist Church, Muskogee, OK, as a patron of the Muskogee Day Nursery, and as a leader in the first community chest drive, in 1932. She is survived by her husband, Jere; daughter, Mrs. Robert J. "Mary Louise" Stanton of Tulsa, OK; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a lifetime of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, John David Locke. Louise will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but her spirit and memories will live on within each of us, because we were privileged to have her in our lives.
