Obituary

Anna Jean Wortham went to be with the Lord on November 30th, 2018. She was born in Memphis, TN on October 11, 1946, to William E. Keith and Florence J. Keith. Her dad's career selling Massey-Ferguson tractors kept them moving a good bit but most of her childhood was spent in Conway, AR with a later move to Jonesboro, AR where she graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1964.
Anna attended Arkansas State University where she completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in education. While there, she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She also met her future husband, Ed, who she married their senior year on March 17, 1968.
After graduation they spent their first married years in Carbondale, IL where Anna taught high school English and served as a guidance counselor. In 1975 they moved to Norfolk, Virginia. Anna worked for The Norfolk Mental Health Services Center as the Director of Education. There, she created and implemented one of the first school systems for children and adolescents needing long term mental health treatment. In 1982, Ed and Anna moved to Tulsa, OK where she devoted her time to being a mom, a volunteer and an active church member at Asbury United Methodist church. She particularly enjoyed cooking, golfing and furthering her spiritual growth through Precept and BSF studies.
Anna is survived by her husband Ed of Tulsa, son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Debora Wortham of Tulsa, and a daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Scott Grantham of Tulsa. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Isabella Wortham, Cameron Grantham, and Elliot Grantham, all of Tulsa. She is preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Lucas Wortham.
Anna Jean Wortham's life will be celebrated on Saturday December 15th at 10:00 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church in Mason Chapel, 6767 South Mingo, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her ashes will be interred at the Asbury Columbarium.
