Anne Marie Welsh daughter of Cecilia and Fitzhugh Allan was born in Tulsa September 17, 1950. She was raised in Tulsa with her sister Janet Leeper. She taught home economics for a year, changed jobs to work for the Bell Telephone Company for several years. She decided to put her career on hold to start a family.
She married her husband Greg, October the 4th of 1975. They were blessed with a son Geff and daughter Laura. Anne Marie loved getting together with both sides of the family. She enjoyed hosting four generations in the house at one time from her great-grandma Anna and then later the beautiful children of her nieces and nephews. After taking time to raise Geff and Laura, Anne Marie went back to work as a para for the local elementary school while simultaneously furthering her college education to become re-certified to teach science. After which she taught middle school science. Anne Marie touched the lives of many of her students. So much so, that at one point it was hard to go shopping or out to eat without a pleasant run in with one of her former students.
After retiring from Tulsa Public Schools, she worked as a substitute teacher in the Owasso School system for several years. She enjoyed taking weekend trips and going to plays and shows with teachers she was good friends with.
