Anthony Luna, 56, passed away suddenly Saturday, March 4, 2017 in Center Point, Texas. Anthony was born May 18, 1960 to Antonio (Tony) and Alberta Henrietta (Pena) Luna of Norwalk, Los Angeles County, California, the youngest son of 6 children. He graduated from John Glenn High School in Norwalk, California in 1978.
Anthony Luna married August 18, 1984 in Anaheim, California to Juliana (Julie) Sandra Bratt. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, Julie's hometown, where Anthony attended Spartan School of Aeronautics with his brother-in-law Johnny Scott Bratt. Anthony graduated with his Airframe & Power plant licenses. With high recommendations from his friend Tim Cordova, he became an employee of American Airlines, June 11, 1990 where he continued to work until his death. He loved his job and the people he worked with and they said you could always depend on Anthony. He could fix or figure out anything that needed worked on and was willing to help where needed.
His greatest loves in his life are his twin surviving sons, Brett Anthony Luna and Storm Bradley Luna. He worked with them all through Boy Scouts to the rank of Eagle Scouts and he enjoyed there many camping trips with his sons and his camping family, Troup 935. He loved helping at Zink Sailing Academy many summers at Skiatook Lake. In 2016, team Anthony constructed a raft for the Tulsa Raft Race, which he enjoyed sailing with Teresa Wheaton, Alisha Bratt and most importantly his sons.
He loved the Pacific Ocean, specifically Huntington Beach, California. He rented a beach house over multiple years so both sides of his family would have a place to bond and vacation once a year. He loved to travel all of the Country and Mexico with his family; snow skiing, scuba diving, and seeing amazing and interesting places. He always loved what his boys where doing and whatever they got into... he was always there too. He was involved in the Hispanic Lions Club, enjoyed bowling, computers, and helping anywhere he could. He loved gadgets and new things. He was baptized Dec 13, 1997 at 'Church on the Move' with Julie, Brett and Storm. He was not materialistic and would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. He could have lived anywhere in the world working for American Airlines and he chose Oklahoma.
Anthony is survived by; Sons Brett Anthony Luna and Storm Bradley Luna; his former wife of 29 years Julie Luna; his companion Teresa Wheaton; all of Tulsa, Oklahoma and who all loved him deeply.
Anthony is survived by his mother Alberta Luna of Norwalk, California; Brothers Tom (Tonya) Luna, Eugene, Oregon; Ron (Sharon) Luna, Norwalk, California; Mark (Antonia) Luna, Oceanside, CA; Sisters Sally (Alan) Topping, Broken Arrow, OK; Marian (Ralph) Fuentes, Anaheim, CA. He is survived by his favorite uncle and aunt Nicholas and Stella Pena, Livermore, CA; and numerous cousins and particularly DeDe (aka:Delores) Arenas and her children of Livermore, CA. He is survived by 15 nieces and nephews on the Luna side of his family and loved them all. From his brother Tom, there are 6; Wayne, Paul, Lori Luna Bush, Melissa Luna, Tyson, and Dustin. From brother Ron, Vanessa Luna. From sister Sally, Summer, Ryan and Jeff Nelson. From brother Mark, Dominic Sanna, Joseph Luna, and Isabella Rose Luna. From sister Marian, Christopher List and Crystal Lopez List. He is also survived by 34 great nieces and nephews.
Anthony is survived by Brother-in-laws Scott (Kit) Bratt, Ponca City, OK, Famous (LaDonna) Tankersley, Tulsa, OK; sister-in-laws Georgianna (Todd) Trehubenko, of Boston, Massachusetts; Mariana Tankersley of Sapulpa, OK. He has 13 nieces and nephews on this side of the family that will always be Uncle Anthony till the end of time, Jordan (Tankersley) Brown, Sahara Tankersley, McKinley Tankersley, Niagra Tankersley, Famous Tankersley, Chesapeake Tankersley, Catalina Tankersley, Bekka Tankersley, Alisha Bratt, Blake Bratt, Teddy Oliver, Dylan Constable, Noah Constable. He has one great nephew. He is also survived by previous mother-in-law Judy Freeman and her sisters Marilou (Chris) Hines, and Barbara Bolan all in Oklahoma.
Anthony was preceded in death by his father August 15, 2000 and a daughter Angela Marie Luna, September 21, 1986.
If you would like to honor Anthony's life, remember his sons and keep in touch with them through the years, never quit saying his name, and tell them and others the stories of Anthony's life so they can share with all the future generations. They will be comforted during times when they won't have his guiding hand to help them. Never quit saying his name so none will forget he was humble and kind.
Smile, you never know how bad someone may need it. He always had a smile, no matter how he felt. His work on earth is done and may he rest in peace.
His son's want to put a bench in his honor at Floral Haven, so if you are not into flowers as he was not; you may donate to the bench in his honor and the bench will be placed near Brett and Storm's grandfather and great grandparents near the praying hands. Make check payable to Brett or Storm Luna and put in Memo for father's bench.
