Ardyth Maxine Vaught Webster was born June 16, 1942 to Bill and Inez Vaught in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She had one sibling, her brother Roger.
On October 1, 1960, she and Dick Webster were married in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and then moved to Santa Monica, CA, where they resided until Dick was drafted a year later. Ardyth worked in a bank during that time.
Ardyth resided in Tulsa while Dick was in basic training, and she worked as a floral designer using her creative gifts and talents. After basic training, she was able to go with Dick to Tech School at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois. Dick was then transferred to the Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington. While in Spokane, they were blessed by the birth of their son Mark. Dick was later deployed to Okinawa and Ardyth returned to Tulsa where their beautiful baby girl, ReNae, joined the family.
Ardyth chose to be a stay-at-home mom to instill in Mark and ReNae values that were important to her and be the best mother she could be. ReNae fondly remembers the many fun, creative things she would do with them. Even going on field trips to collect rocks seemed an exciting adventure. As the children got older, Ardyth began working in the oil Industry as a self-taught accountant. Her last position was with The Resource Group and she remained there until her health began to fail. She was well-liked and respected for her work ethic.
She and Dick started attending Victory Christian Center in 1981 and became members in 1986. Over the last 29 years, they have served in many areas at Victory, from greeting every Sunday to making sandwiches for the bus children, to supporting the Single Parents Ministry. She also volunteered at the Dream Center and the information desk at VCS. For years, she helped prepare Sunday lunch for the Pastors, which gave her great joy. She and Dick have been part of a cell group for many years, staying connected to the Church through those close relationships. She was also recognized and honored by the Red Cross for having given over 12 gallons of blood and she was always available, day or night, to donate when blood was needed.
Her greatest loves in life were Jesus, her family and her friends. She and Dick were best friends and they always said they would be "best friends" in Heaven. Her two grandchildren, Jade and Mason, were her special love. She took several enjoyable trips with her granddaughter Jade, and she prayed daily for grandson Mason while he serves his country in the Middle East.
After an odds-defying fight with cancer, she is now walking on those "streets of gold" and sharing her wonderful spirit with those who have gone on before. She has joined that "great cloud of witnesses in the grandstand of heaven," cheering us on in our race to finish strong as she did. Her greatest wish in life was for all her family to join her in heaven. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
She is survived by husband Dick of the home; brother Roger Vaught and wife Nancy of Houston, Texas; daughter ReNae and husband Dean Green of Tulsa; son Mark Webster of New Orleans, Louisiana; grandson Mason Green and fiancée Samantha Reynolds of Tulsa; granddaughter Jade and husband Rick Urash of Oklahoma City.
