Obituary

Arnold Dahl, 80, Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on 12/13/2023.
Arnie loved the Lord, his beloved wife of 31 years, Pat, his music, and his cherished dogs.
Arnie was born in San Pedro, California, to Borghild (Bea) and Arne Dahl. He was proud of his full blood Norwegian heritage. He was raised in large part at Kallman Home, a Swedish children's home in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, where his mother was the laundress. His love of the Lord was fostered there by many, especially the Salvation Army and several Christian house parents. He loved his years in the home and had many dear memories of people and events. He was still in contact with several others who spent time in Kallman Home.
After attending Aviation High School, at age 19 he entered the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Toul Rosieres, France. These four years were a pivotal part of his life and he often told stories of his days as an Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO). His interest in all things aviation brought him from Brooklyn to Tulsa where he attended Spartan School of Aeronautics and earned his A&P license. From there he was employed at American Airlines for 27 years, first as a mechanic then working his way up to Quality Assurance leading him to travel the world extensively. After leaving American Airlines he formed Dahl Consulting, which served to bring aviation parts suppliers into FAA compliance.
Arnie had a lifelong love of music. He played trumpet in Carnegie Hall in New York City as a youngster.
After a hiatus of more than forty years he began playing again and enjoyed performing with the Blaskapelle, the German American Society band as well as Hosanna Brass at Kirk of the Hills. Most recently he played bass guitar at Southwood Bible Church, his last church home.
Arnie will be missed for his bad (often lengthy) jokes, great hugs, delightful sense of humor, but especially his love of the Lord. He never met a stranger and all conversations turned to Christ. He had extensive knowledge of Scripture and spent his whole life studying Prophecy. He hoped and prayed for the Lord's soon return but was called home before it could be fulfilled.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Kirk of the Hills, 4102 E. 61st, Tulsa. Moore's Southlawn 918-663-2233
