Arnold Joe West passed peacefully to eternal rest on April 25, 2023, having lived a long and impactful life. Joe was born June 8, 1931 in Ballinger, TX. He grew up in San Angelo, Texas. During his third year of college, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed for the majority of his service at Pepperrell Air Force Base in St. John's, Newfoundland. While there, he met and married his bride of 50 years, Lorna MacLellan. Upon discharge from the Air Force, he finished his degree from the University of Texas. He had a long career with the same oil company known by many names: Pan American Petroleum/Standard of Indiana/Amoco. His career took the family from Brownsville to Fort Worth, Tulsa, Chicago, and Denver. After retirement, they moved back to Tulsa which has been his home for the last 33 years.
Joe was active in the Sons of the American Revolution, serving as both local and state treasurer for many years. He was very interested in genealogy and published several books about the West and MacLellan ancestors. He was an avid fisherman and loved bowling, woodworking, and photography. He was a wonderful husband, dad, uncle, grandpa, and great grandpa. He was well loved and will be greatly missed.
Joe was predeceased by: his wife, Lorna nee MacLellan; his parents, Marshall and Madge West, his brother Lewis West, and his sister Patsy Currie. Surviving Joe are: daughter, Marsha Joann West of Tulsa; daughter Beverley Ferrell and husband Gary of Tulsa; son Joe West and wife, LeAnn of Mattoon, IL. Also by granddaughters Janet (nee Ferrell) Reyna, husband Dan and children Lorel and Mateo (plus one on the way) of Wheat Ridge, CO.; Catherine Ferrell of Kissimmee, FL; Julie (nee Ferrell) Olson and husband Eli of Chicago, IL; Mandy (nee Campbell) Waters, husband Jeremy, and son Reid of Mattoon, IL; Kacey (nee Campbell) Laker, husband Matthew and children Ezra and Evie of Schaumburg, IL.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be by a private family ceremony at Memorial Park, followed by a service at St. James Presbyterian Church on May 1, 2023 at 11:00 am to which all family and friends are invited.
