Autry D. Johnson, beloved veteran, dedicated public servant, and cherished friend and family member, passed away on August 10, 2026, at the age of 87. He was born on December 6, 1938.

Autry was a graduate of Oklahoma State University and proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy. Following his military service, he worked many years with The Tulsa Police Department in payroll, purchasing, and accounting.

Outside of his professional life, Autry found great joy in the open road and the beauty of the mountains. He was an avid Harley-Davidson rider and especially loved riding through Red River, New Mexico. The mountains, open roads, and freedom of riding were among his greatest pleasures, and Red River New Mexico held a special place in his heart.

He was godfather to Kenneth Daggs and Alan Daggs. Autry shared a special lifelong friendship with Franklin and Betty Jo Daggs, who lovingly served as his guardians during the last five years of his life. He was also blessed with the long-time friendships of Lucy Upton, Stephanie Daggs, Matthew Daggs, Mike Fletcher, Mary Jim Tuttle, Jack Stephens, and Bob Ingle. Their friendship, care, and devotion were treasured parts of Autry's life and final years. Autry is survived by his nephew, Alexander Clark of Seabrook, Texas, and Patricia Bryan of Rowlett, Texas.

Autry was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Clark and parents Charles and Ruth Johnson. He was also preceded in death by Franklin Daggs and Alan Daggs.

Autry will be remembered for his service to his country, his years of dedication to the Tulsa community, his love of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and the open road, and his deep appreciation for the mountains of New Mexico. Most of all, he will be remembered by those who loved him for the friendships and relationships he built throughout his life.

Graveside Service: Friday, August 21, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. Memorial Park Cemetery 5111 South Memorial Drive. Section 16, just west of the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel.
