Averie Monet Hight, born March 5, 2000, passed peacefully into her eternal home surrounded by a loving family and close friends on Friday, June 27, 2025.
Averie is survived by her parents Richard and Marty Hight and her brother, Coleman Hight. As well as, both maternal grandparents, Grandfather Wallace Boyd and his wife Sally Jo, and her grandmother Marilyn Glass, along with a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her older sister, Rachel Mae Hight, and her paternal grandparents James and Betty Hight.
Averie attended First Baptist Church with her family where she enjoyed dispensing hugs to as many members and guests as possible. She had a quick, warm smile and a kind word for everyone.
She is a graduate of The Little Light House in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Charles Page High School in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
Averie loved to serve others. She was a frequent visitor at the local nursing home where she enjoyed chatting with the residents and taking little homemade gifts to share. Loving children, she delighted to volunteer at Vacation Bible School and she also worked alongside her father advocating for numerous charities across the nation. She was especially please to stand up for the disabled community.
She was a whimsical soul who liked cooking, working around the house and the arts - participating in music, dance, and theater. She was a paid extra in motion pictures and has a children's book about an actual event in her life. She was a member of the 2019 Charles Page High School gold medal winning Special Olympics softball team, and a card carrying member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.
Averie was always ready to tackle new adventures and did so with great enthusiasm. She kept a bag packed so she could be ready to travel quickly. She had visited 46 of the 48 contiguous states, as well as a few foreign countries and she made friends everywhere.
Services have been entrusted to Moore's Funeral Home Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E 51st Street, Tulsa, OK 74145. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 1st, 5:00 P.M - 7:00 P.M., at Southlawn Chapel. Averie's Celebration of Life is Wednesday, July 2nd, 1:00 P.M., at First Baptist Church Downtown Tulsa, 420 S. Detroit Ave., Tulsa, OK 74120
