Obituary
Barbara Jean Atchison was born May 13, 1931 in Maplesville, Alabama to Mary & Cryus Culp, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 at the age of 85 at her home with her family and under Hospice Care.
She worked as a manicurist from 1959 until the end of life. Barbara was an Army wife and traveled with her husband and children in military service.
She was passionate about family, friends and collecting old things.
She was handicapped as a child after contracting osteomyelitis as a young girl but refused to consider herself handicapped.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Roy in 1957 and daughter Debbie in 2006 and brother James. She is survived by her two sons, Roy and Bill, her daughter-in-law, Lynn Atchison, Six Grandchildren; Bill Atchison, Jr., Angel McCoy, Chad Atchison, Ben Atchison, Sarah Jacobs and Kyle Jacobs, Six great grandchildren: Savannah, Gabe, Lilly, Elsie, Tucker and Liam
Service will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, December 5, 2016 at Moore Funeral Home Rosewood Chapel, 2570 S. Harvard.
Barbara will be interned with her husband Roy at Fort Benning Georgia at the Army Cemetery.
To sum up her life she loved her children, her friends and loved to be of service to others.
