Barbara Kay Bryant, age 50 of Temple, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at home with family, after a valiant struggle with cancer. A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on Monday, March 16th, at 11 A.M. The service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church in Temple, with the Reverend Thom Lamb and the Reverend Leigh Benish officiating. Scanio-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Private family burial service will follow at a later date in Tulsa.

Mrs. Barbara Bryant was born July 9, 1964, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to Mark Allen Ehman and L. Carol Kinion Ehman. She was baptized at First Presbyterian Church, Springfield, on September 27th, 1964. She attended schools in Greater Springfield, Mass., area. and Madison, Wisconsin. She graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School, Chicopee, Mass. in 1982. Barbara received her BS in nursing in 1986 from the University of Tulsa. Mrs. Bryant was a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in Nursing.

Mrs. Bryant met her husband, William Patton Bryant, at University of Tulsa. They were married in June, 1987. She worked as a pediatric nurse in at Saint Francis Hospital, in Tulsa, OK; Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO; and worked in research at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

Family was important to her, and she was devoted to her husband and sons, Miles and Nathan. She was involved in school and church activities as an active volunteer. The heritage trip to South Korea with her family in 2009 was a highlight of her life. She served the health care needs of her parents and parents-in-law in recent years.

She was an active member of Grace Presbyterian and their many youth education programs and activities. She served as deacon in her church both in Tulsa and at Grace Presbyterian.

Mrs. Bryant will be remembered as a woman of strong faith in God and a generous person. She is survived by her loyal, faithful husband, Dr. William Bryant of Temple; her children, Miles William Bryant, and Nathaniel Richard Bryant, both at home; her mother, L. Carol Ehman of Temple; her father Mark Allen Ehman and spouse Maritza Ehman of N. Fort Myers Florida and her sister Anande Ehman of N. For Myers Florida; her mother-in-law Patricia Bryant of Tulsa; her brother-in-law and spouse Richard and Rebecca Bryant of Bartlesville, Ok, and sister-in-law and spouse Melissa and Kevin White of Charlotte, NC.
