Obituary
Sunday, April 7, 2019, Barbara Ann Headrick, devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, made her ascent peacefully to Heaven at age 83.
Barbara was born September 24, 1935 to Lester and Louise (Kesseler) Grant, both deceased. She graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1953, attended OU and TJC. She worked as a secretary / bookkeeper at Lester T. Grant Company and Grant Mfg.
Barbara married David C. Headrick on March 16, 1956. They were married 60 years when he passed in December 2016. They had three children James David (Jimmy) who passed in 1965, Robert (Bob), and Karen.
Barbara was practical and purpose driven. She liked to fish, camp, travel, and work in the yard. She loved sitting in her sunroom eating lunch and watching the birds and butterflies. She was a "neighborhood mom", an active parent in all of her children's activities, PTA, scouts, sports, etc. She was a gracious and compassionate person, and held dearly in remembrance all the words, actions and deeds that others did for her. She enjoyed and remembered with endearment those individual traits that made you special and unique in her eyes. She enjoyed long time bonds with friends.
Her grandchildren were the light of her life and the great-grandchildren an extra twinkle in her eye. She loved her family dearly as well as the many others who were adopted in by love.
Besides those mentioned above, Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Grant. She is survived by her sister Marilyn Bamberger, son Robert Headrick and wife Amy, daughter Karen Selvidge and husband Chuck. Grandchildren Holli Headrick, Hillari Headrick, Robby Headrick, Lee Bowen, Phillip Bowen and wife Abby, Jeremy Selvidge and wife Vickie, Jami Ford, and Kelsey Neal. Great grand-children; Clarajean Spivey, Remington Bowen, Gracie Swift, Malia Dobbins, Zurich Neal, Maria Turley, and Logan Jordan, several nieces and beloved longtime friends and neighbors.
Services will be held at Moore's Southlawn Tulsa, OK. Viewing Monday April 15, 2019 10am-8pm. Family visitation from 5pm-7pm. Funeral services Tuesday April 16, 2019 at 2:00pm. If you wish to make a donation in her honor, please choose Operation Smile, Grace Hospice, or Life Senior Services.
