Obituary

Barbara "Totsy" Jean McGee, was a warrior throughout life at the age of 94 and from Tulsa and has gone to heaven on July 19, 2024. She was born in Altus, OK in 1929 to May & Leonard Walters and always told stories of her adventurous childhood, from being at the lake to living in Las Angeles, CA with her family. Totsy attended Central High School in Tulsa, OK and married Phillip D. McGee at the age of 18. She had 2 beautiful children that she loved dearly before going to work in Real Estate to later become a successful real estate Broker for over 30 years. Totsy lived a long, full life with many friends and a handful of grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she also loved very much and would do anything for. She and Phil were in a square-dancing club and later Totsy would become an extremely talented and well-known artist in the Tulsa area, painting in any and all mediums, displaying her art all over offices in Tulsa. Totsy was also a very talented tap dancer in her younger years as well as an adult with Phil and their dancing circuit. Her son was a local race car driver when he was older, so on the weekends you could find her at the tracks watching her son race his heart out. If you were lucky enough to know Totsy you definitely would not forget her. She was always up to something that you could be sure would include fun and laughter. She loved to travel and was a lot of fun to be around and with.

Totsy was preceded in death by her mother and father Mae and Leonard Walters, her husband Phillip D McGee, many aunts, uncles, cousins and of course tons of friends and is survived by many loving individuals, including her brother and his wife Sandra & Bud Walters, son Michael D. McGee, daughter Phyllis J. McGee, granddaughters Carrie Wells and Amber Birdtail, grandson and his wife Melissa & Tommy Wells, great grandchildren, Mycah Wells, Eagle, Winterhawk & Hunter Birdtail. There are no formal events planned as Totsy did not wish to have services. The family will be planning a small gathering to spread her ashes in the next couple of months and if you are interested in attending, please get in touch with a family member for details.

You may donate to the Alzheimer's Association in her honor as an alternative to flowers.
