Barbara Burton Miser, 86, passed away June 13, 2020, in her home in Claremore, Oklahoma. Born November 10, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Noel Boss and Ruth Violet (Richards) Burton. She graduated in 1951 from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She married Jimmie Lawrence Miser from Tulsa, Oklahoma, August 25, 1951. They were married 68 years and 9 months. Barbara worked from home much of her life caring for her family and rearing six children. Then she worked for 21 years at Liberty Press, a printing business she and Jim established and operated in Tulsa. She retired in 1995. She particularly enjoyed her large family, singing and writing poetry. She loved learning and was a voracious reader.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Jimmie L. Miser of Claremore; her sister, Patsy Ruth Peterson of Broken Arrow; her son, Mark and his wife Bonnie Miser of Skiatook; her son, Stephen and his wife Jan Miser of Coweta; her daughter, Dianne and her husband Monte Myrick of Kansas, Oklahoma; her son Scott and wife Carol Miser of Kansas, Oklahoma , son Curtis and his wife CC Miser of Claremore and her daughter Kathleen and her husband David Duke of Claremore, Oklahoma. She will be loved and remembered by 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Ruth Burton; her brother, James Burton, and her sister, Betty Jo Longstreath.
Viewing will be Wednesday, June 17, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., with visitation from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Moore's Southlawn Chapel, 9350 East 51st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma
