Obituary

Barbara Nell Johnson, 82, of Claremore, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2020. She lived an incredibly selfless life devoted to helping others. She was born October 5, 1937, in Tulsa, OK, to Ray H. and Opal B. Jackson. Barbara was a member of Claremore Assembly of God and supported her husband's ministry, Phil Johnson Ministries. She was committed to her faith with a daily devotional, and she loved to spend time with family and friends. She was a self-taught pianist and enjoyed singing, fishing, sewing, cooking, and as of late, taking naps with her cat Waffles. Her home was a place of peace, and everyone who visited received the warmth of her delicious food, loving hugs, hilarious wit, and likely a nap of your own. She was the light of Christ, and she made everyone feel loved. Barbara is survived by her children, Victor M. Reynolds and wife Rethal of Broken Arrow, Cooper R. Phillips and wife Paige of Claremore, Marla Carr and husband Bill of Tulsa, Joyce Jean Wood and husband Peter of Colorado Springs, CO, Kay Moody of Colorado Springs, CO, and J. Phillip Johnson, Jr.; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her sisters, Julie Ann Earp and Sharon L. Younger. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Phillip Johnson; brothers, William R. Jackson and Dr. Joseph E. Jackson.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11, NIV
