Barry Wray
Boyd
December 18, 1950 – March 10, 2026
Barry Wray Boyd, 75, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on March 10, 2026. He was born on December 18, 1950, in Tulsa to William Wray Boyd and Margaret Elizabeth Boyd.
Barry graduated from Central High School in 1969. Shortly thereafter, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and was stationed on Guam.
On September 26, 1970, he married Mary Ann Green, and together they welcomed their daughter, Julie Anne Boyd, on June 29, 1972. They later divorced in early 1974. Barry went on to marry Karen Sue Wagoner on August 7, 1976.
Following his military service, Barry worked briefly at Channel 8 before returning to his passion for telecommunications. He built a long and dedicated career in the cable industry, beginning with Tulsa Cable and continuing through multiple mergers and acquisitions, ultimately retiring from Cox Communications.
Barry had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also spent time pursuing a passion for racing, competing in super modified sprint dirt car races at Tulsa Speedway, where he spent many weekends chasing the checkered flag.
Above all, Barry was a compassionate, driven, and loyal family man who never met a stranger. In times of need, he was the person others turned to-always offering support with a warm smile and a comforting hug.
