Obituary

On Monday, June 17th, Ben Latham passed away surrounded by his family.
He was born in Gainesville, Florida on April 2, 1949. His father was a Navy Air Traffic Officer, so his family lived in many places, Puerto Rico being Ben's fondest childhood memories.
He graduated from The University of Florida, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. It was at KA where Ben made his first Friends For Life. FFLs are rare and dear people, and Ben hopes all of you hold and cherish yours as he did his.
After graduation, Ben was a CPA for 14 years, finishing that career as a Big 5 audit partner.
He founded GBR Properties in 1987 with his business partner. GBR is a commercial real estate company, ultimately growing to 2.1 million square feet under ownership.
Ben was a quiet philanthropist, involved in a number of nonprofits and causes. Always striving to lift up those around him, he never expected anything in return other than the satisfaction that he had made a difference. He was a firm believer in leading by example.
Ben is survived by his beautiful wife of 28 years, Beth Latham, and his four daughters: Ryanne Ahlman, Megan Seale, Allison Latham and Lindsey Latham. They will always carry with them Ben's love of family, travel, fine wine, fly fishing, the Florida Gator football team, and his generous spirit.
A celebration of Ben's life will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 22, 2019. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Ben's favorite charities: The American Cancer Society, St. John's Music Society, or a charitable organization of your choice.
