Your Father?s Good Pleasure
To each of us is given
A talent and a cross,
God grant we never waste the one,
Nor count the other loss.
The talent may be only grace
To bear our earthly pain,
Upon the cross of sacrifice
For God?s transcending gain.
We cannot see beyond the tears,
Nor our heart?s wish command;
But we can reach and touch the stars
If we but hold God?s hand.
