Benjamin Michael Moyer Jr, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 83. He was born on May 4, 1941 in Joplin, Missouri to Ben Sr. and Rita (Scheurich) Moyer. He grew up in Bartlesville and graduated from Bartlesville High School. He earned his degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. During his time in college, he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity as well as the Navy ROTC program. After graduation, Ben served six years in the United States Navy, ending his career as a Lieutenant. A resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma for 45 years, Ben worked as a structural engineer and in construction management. He later became the President of the Tulsa Division of Nabholz Construction before retiring at age 70.
Ben's life was filled with love and laughter. He had a love of life and unmatched optimism that never wavered, even throughout a battle with cancer. He was humble and kind, loved his family fiercely and protected them always. He always strived to instill his incredible work ethic and sense of integrity into his children and grandchildren. He loved to fish, tinker in the yard, and build and fix all things for all people. He leaves behind joyful memories and will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him.
Ben was proceeded in death by his parents, Ben Sr. and Rita (Scheurich) Moyer. He is survived by his wife, Peggy of Tulsa, OK; his three daughters, Christy Taylor and husband Cary of Bixby, OK; Lori Coughlin and husband Kevin of Overland Park, KS; and Suzy Iliff and husband Charles of Bixby, OK; as well as eight grandchildren, Megan, Jack, and Sam Taylor, Katie and Kyle Coughlin, and Avery, Jake, and Luke Iliff. Also surviving are his brothers, Bill Moyer and wife Sue of Anthony, KS; Bob Moyer and wife Kate, of Tulsa, OK; and sister, Mary Bosworth and husband Tony, of Lindale, TX; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Moore Funeral Home-Southlawn Chapel, 9350 E. 51st St., Tulsa, OK on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 4:30 to 8 PM. Funeral will be held at Asbury church, 6767 South Mingo Rd., Tulsa, OK on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 1 PM. The service will be livestreamed at
